OLIS DSM 17 CD
Best CD spectrometer for MCD and other NIR CD uses
The ideal CD when CD measurements outside of proteins and peptides region is the first priority. The DSM 17 is useful for the 260-190 nm protein measurements, but also equally good for polymers, metals, and other samples optically active 700-1700 nm. Add our 1.4 Tesla permanent magnet, a cryogenic magnet, or other magnet to create an ideal MCD system. The model 17 fitted with both a PMT for UV/Vis and an InGaAs detector for scanning from UV/Vis into NIR seamlessly. Automatic slit and detector adjustments make this the model of choice for laboratories working with a host of sample types, those requiring various span ranges, and those routinely interested in the NIR. Extending beyond 700-1700 nm is achievable with an optional extended range detector (at additional cost).
The right answer is the only answer a DSM CD can return.

Why Choose the OLIS 17 CD?
#1
NIR CD is essential and 185-1650 nm is perfect
#2
You want the best possible absorbance, too, even optionally 185-2600 nm
#3
You never want to question the result and you never want to schedule a service visit

We start with our favorite UV/Vis/NIR monochromator to make the best NIR CD
Some things are simply superior to others. Think of a Stradivarius. The great Cary 14 and 17 prism-grating monochromators are like that. When freed from their original supporting hardware, they become the core of the OLIS 17 CD, OLIS 172 CD and CPL, and other OLIS systems. The resulting spectroscopy systems are the best of today’s Windows 11 era OLIS electronics and software, plus the outstandingly good sensitivity, spectral range, accuracy, reproducibility, stray light, and more of the classic Cary.
