You cannot buy a higher quality UV/Vis/NIR nor a more reliable and upgradable one. Only if you need the 2600-3300 nm range that new models advertise should you say No to a great classic modernized.

Priced at $140K in 2020 dollars ($16,800 in 1964), these battleship quality instruments established the peak of performance then. Today, you have this identical performance, albeit supported with Win 10 electronics and computerization. You can spend $140K on one today, but it will also support fluorescence, CD, CLARiTY, and/or CPL measurements, along with normal absorbance.
